Fossil is a renowned brand when it comes to smartwatches. Their wearables are sought-after by many fitness buffs and smartwatch aficionados due to their slim design and multifarious features. However, like most smartwatch brands, not all of their smartwatches are perfect in terms of design. Its previous wearables are infamous for their poor flat tire design, sporting a flat line at the bottom of the display that restricts it from going full circle. Fortunately, Fossil made improvements to the design of its smartwatches, as seen on its latest device – the Q Explorist. Aside from the much-improved screen design, the Q Explorist boasts decent smartwatch specs that suit the needs of many smartwatch and fitness enthusiasts.
The Q Explorist sports a tough, edgy design that is not only great for the outdoors but also for the office environment. The band is made from polished steel that appears glossy and elegant. Moving onto the screen, the Q Explorist comes with a 44-mm case chassis which is 12.6 mm thick, making it the thinnest wearable device Fossil has ever made for the male demographic. Not to mention, its small projecting knob looks premium, similar to Samsung’s top-of-the-line Gear S3. Design-wise, its most notable feature is its full circle screen, ditching the unappealing flat tire design. In addition, the Explorist comes in five color options which include rose gold stainless steel, smoke grey, and much more.
Impressive Hardware and Performance
Fossil Explorist’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 with 4 GB internal storage offers a decent performance, allowing it to handle anything you throw at it. This, coupled with 512 MB of RAM and Android Wear 2.0 - the latest version of Google wearable operating system, makes the Explorist run apps smoothly and have a Wi-Fi capability that lets you listen to your favorite music without your smartphone nearby.
Enjoy Great and Useful Apps
Aside from its stunning display and decent specs, the Explorist comes with a fitness tracking app and other useful software like Google Fit, UA Record, and MyFitnessPal. Not to mention, it has its own set of exclusive arcade games and other micro applications. Also, you will not run out of options for your watch’s face, as the Explorist comes with a range of watch faces to choose from.
