Harman Kardon Aura Hong Kong

Luxurious Aesthetics

Harman Kardon is very well known not for just their penchant for quality audio, but also for their unique and modernistic designs. The Harman Kardon Aura takes a leaf out of the iconic Harman Kardon Soundsticks speakers’ design and aesthetics, carrying forward the same modern design language that makes it stand-out among the many other speaker brands and products.

The Aura mostly resembles the Soundsticks’ sub-woofer, but adds a black base with the Harman Kardon branding embossed on the front. As a stand-alone speaker unit, the Aura may look small and compact, but in truth, it packs a massive punch in the sound department. Although it is only a single-unit speaker that is designed to deliver omni-directional sound, it is still a 2.1 speaker system at its core.

Wireless Connectivity

The Harman Kardon Aura makes playing music very much more convenient through its wireless connectivity. Built into the Aura are Apple’s AirPlay connectivity and wireless Bluetooth connectivity. Apple’s iOS devices can connect to the Aura easily with the AirPlay feature through the Harman Kardon app on iOS. Bluetooth connectivity is also easily connected and managed through the Harman Kardon app on both iOS and Android.

The Aura also furthers supports DLNA if you have stored media on your Wi-Fi network; alternatively, it also accepts 3.5mm and optical wired connections from other devices. Volume and bass settings are controlled through touch-controls located on the speaker itself.

Don’t let the Aura’s small and nimble-looking hardware fool you. Staying true to Harman Kardon’s speciality, the Aura outputs impressive audio performance. It can deliver sound straight out without any distortion, sending crystal clear highs and low warm bass across the room. The Aura handles all kinds of music perfectly, having a very balanced sound signature overall with warm and rich tones (of course the bass can always be turned up if the listener wants something boomy).

The Harman Kardon Aura certainly stays true to the quality of Harman Kardon’s speakers, with great aesthetics and fantastic sound quality. The added wireless connectivity further makes it a great speaker to have in the home and the office.

Great design, Minimal footprint for a single enclosure speaker, Room filling sound, Great connectivity optionsYou don't get extreme precision or detail
One would think there's not much that can be done with design when it comes to single enclosure speakers. There are after all just the standard set of components that need to be thrown together in one enclosure: a couple of tweeters and a large diaphragm...

Powerful, clear sound. Attractive design. Lots of connection options.Awkward touch controls on the speaker itself
The Harman Kardon Aura looks more like a work of art than a speaker, but it can do the job of both. While the $399.95 device looks striking, with a clear, curved dome and subtle lighting, it's also a functional and powerful wireless speaker that supp...
