Digital-savvy Hong Kongers are excited about HTC’s newest device– the HTC Desire 12. It is rumored to offer nifty features such as a capable MediaTek MT6739 chip, glass body, and full HD video recording, all without breaking the bank. Here’s a rundown of its rumored specs and features.
As of writing, HTC Desire 12’s price and release date haven’t been announced yet. However, based on its specs sheet, it can probably cost around SGD 399. There’s no confirmation yet on the release date but we will inform you the latest we get an update.
In terms of design, the HTC Desire will sport an elegant glass exterior with metal accents. You will find the 5-MP shooter on its front panel and a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution. The display has an 18:9 aspect ratio which is one of the biggest trends among mobile phones these days. Aside from that, there will be a 13-MP sensor with a f/2.2 aperture on the back, which is decent enough for a mid-range device. For an “affordable” phone, this is already the standard so there’s no surprise there.
The 5.5-inch HD display and 18:9 aspect ratio on the HTC Desire really do it proud. It is also said to be e equipped with ambient light and proximity sensors. The former will automatically adjust brightness to conserve battery life, while the latter will detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. While the ambient light sensor will come in handy in most situations, there will be display settings where you can adjust the brightness levels and tones to your liking.
Besides the 18:9 display, this new HTC phone will house a 2,730-mAh battery which can last all day with moderate use. You can further improve its battery life by lowering the display’s resolution and putting it on automatic to save on power.
The HTC Desire 12 is confirmed to feature a 13-MP camera that is coupled with autofocus and face detection features. If there are scenarios where you may find it inconvenient to use autofocus, say shooting moving objects, then you can do manual focus by tapping on the display. The HTC Desire 12 camera app will also have impressive shooting modes, such as burst mode, high dynamic range mode (HDR), panorama, and much more. As for its front snapper, the HTC Desire 12 will come with a 5-MP unit which can provide decent selfies.
The MediaTek MT6739 on the HTC Desire 12 is slightly on par with those from popular mid-range phones like the Oppo F1s and the Vivo Y69. As for its internal storage, the Desire 12 will only have one storage variant – 32 GB, which is expandable up to 2000 GB! This large amount of storage space will allow you to download and save hundreds of videos, photos, and other files!
