After the Huawei Y6’s commercial success, the company introduced its Pro variant which hosts slight upgrades over its predecessor. The Huawei Y6 Pro comes with decent specs and features that will impress mid-range smartphone users. Here’s a rundown of its specifications and features.
The Y6 Pro sports a nearly similar design and shape to the Huawei Y6, except for a few design changes. These include the bezels around the display which is now more noticeable. The sides are now more visible, giving the device more compactness. On the back, you can find the polycarbonate plastic exterior that has a patterned design. As for the device’s dimensions, the Y6 Pro measures 143.1x71.8x9.7mm, making it a bit thick to hold in one hand. However, you won’t find any issues when you hold it in a landscape orientation that is ideal for watching movies and playing mobile games.
Huawei Y6 Pro runs on the MediaTek 6735 chip with 4 cores clocked at 1.3 GHz. This allows apps to run smoothly while the device’s hardware is switching in between the processor and the RAM. As a result, you won’t experience any slowdowns while multitasking between tabs. The Y6 Pro also comes with a 2 GB RAM and a 16 GB internal storage which is a good combination for a mid-level smartphone. With a 2 GB of RAM, the Huawei Y6 Pro can accommodate 3 to 4 apps at a time. Although the Y6 Pro has enough memory to keep your data, if you need more, there is a slot where you can put a MicroSD card with 128 GB of expandable storage.
Above the Huawei Y6 Pro’s back, there is a 13 MP rear camera with a flashlight. In front, you can find the 5 MP front-facing camera. Both of these cameras are responsive and offer good image quality. When it comes to the actual resolution of the rear camera, it is 4160 x 3120 pixels which can be adjusted according to your need. In addition, there is a camera app that comes with HDR and Panorama options to enhance the quality of your images, as well as a watermarking feature to personalize them. Aside from that, the camera app enables you to have full control over both cameras. Geo-tagging, ISO, image adjustment, white balance, burst mode, shutter and other settings can be adjusted from the camera app.
The Huawei Y6 Pro is packed with a 400O mAh battery which is non-removable. This ginormous battery may take some time to charge, however, once it runs on full battery, it can last up to two days with moderate usage. The device can even have some remaining battery life after a whole day of usage, including 3G calls and video streaming.
