The LG G Flex 3 is the rumored sequel to the LG G Flex 2. The previous device was the first to launch with Qualcomm’s much-talked-about Snapdragon 810 processor, but its release was somewhat marred by overheating issues. Now, fans and potential buyers are wondering whether the new device will give them a warm welcome. Here’s what we know so far about the LG G Flex 3.
Interestingly, the design of the LG G Flex 3 is one aspect of the upcoming smartphone that hasn’t really been leaked. Based on leaked images and rumors online, the upcoming LG G Flex 3 will sport a metal body, an upgrade from the glossy plastic body of the LG G Flex 2, which would give the Flex 3 a more premium look and feel. However, this is in contrast to the fact that the series is named G Flex and metal isn’t really renowned for its pliability. A curved metal smartphone design is not entirely outside the realms of possibility since LG is making curved TVs housed in metal. All in all, it’s not yet sure if it will happen on the G Flex 3.
The upcoming LG G Flex 3 may sport a 6-inch QHD display with a resolution of 1440x2560p – a major upgrade over the 5.5in QHD display used in the LG G Flex 2. It’s not too sure that LG would make the jump from 5.5in to 6in, as 5.5in smartphones are generally accepted today as phablet-sized and anything bigger is usually uncomfortable to use - and of course, the original G Flex had a 6-inch display which didn't receive a warm welcome. This rumor that suggests the LG G Flex 3 could come with a 6-inch display should be taken with a grain of salt, just like any other rumored specs.
The latest rumors suggest that the new handset will launch with the Snapdragon 820 chipset, and could be the first to do so. This will be Qualcomm’s next major mobile processing unit, reported to be 35 percent faster than the Snapdragon 810. It has also been speculated that the G Flex 3 will house a 4 GB of RAM. The battery is reported to have a 3,500 mAh capacity but is unlikely to be removable, and the G Flex 3 is also said to have expandable storage via a MicroSD card slot.
Camera and Storage
Cameras may come in the form of a 16-megapixel rear camera which is coupled with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. In terms of storage, it seems G Flex 3 will either come sporting 32GB or 64GB internal storage (or two variants).
