Recently, Microsoft made headlines as a spokesperson from the company spilled the latest Surface Pro’s launch date which is going to be on December 1, 2017. It is supposed to be revealed by the head of Microsoft’s Surface division, Panos Panay, on October 31 during the company’s Future Decoded event in London. However, the Microsoft spokesperson during the Ignite 2017 conference in Florida inadvertently revealed the launch date. Not to mention, the representative mentioned that the LTE version of the Surface Pro is already listed on the online storefront of Microsoft UK.
On Microsoft UK’s storefront, it appears that the Core i5 version of the Surface Pro 5 comes in two variants: 256 GB and 128 GB with 8 GB and 4 GB of RAM, respectively. Aside from that, here is a breakdown of the Surface Pro 5’s features and specifications.
Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro 5 is going to have better audio than its predecessors as well as a more impressive PixelSense display. The Redmont-based company calls it “enhanced color PixelSense display” which refers to a 12.3-inch screen with a remarkable 2736x1824 resolution and multi-touch capability.
Microsoft has incorporated a much-improved seventh-generation Kaby Lake processor into the Surface Pro 5, better than the Pro 4’s sixth-generation Intel Core M, Core i5, and Core i7 variants. Aside from that, this new processor is going to be fanless which means you’ll get more power and impressive battery life. Along with Intel HD graphics 620, Iris Plus Graphics 640, and up to 16 GB of RAM, users might expect a huge spec bump over the Pro 4.
Microsoft promises a 13.5-hour battery life from the Surface Pro 5, which would be a huge improvement from the Surface Pro 4’s 9 hours. Also, the new Surface Pen is more sensitive, with different tools so users can easily manipulate their masterpieces.
As mentioned, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to hit the stores on December 1st. It will be priced at around USD 1150 (RM 4, 855. PHP 58,501, HKD 8,972, 1,562 SGD).
