Oppo Find X Review, Specs & Features

Oppo Find X Hong Kong – Breaking Smartphone Barriers

Oppo has always been renowned globally for producing reliable and feature-filled smartphones with affordable price tags. This time round, Oppo is taking a shot at the industry’s big boys with the introduction of the Oppo Find X. On paper, this upcoming device is capable of matching top-tier flagships, especially with features like a pop-up camera, a bezel-less, no-notch design, and plenty of power to boot. Below is a look of the phone’s top specs and features.

Design and Build Quality

In terms of its design, it is safe to say that the Oppo Find X is reinventing the definition of a bezel-less display. Boasting a 93.8% screen-to-body ratio, the front of the Find X is almost completely comprised of its screen except for a slender 3.4mm chin at the bottom. In fact, the top bezel only measures 1.91mm and the size bezels are only 1.65mm, which enables the phone to maintain a manageable size while providing generous screen real-estate.

Furthermore, the glass front and rear add to the overall aesthetics of the device, giving it a premium look and feel. Oppo has also ensured that the Find X is extremely comfortable to hold as it has been masterfully designed to match the palm of your hand for improved grip. Another thing you will notice about the phone is the absence of any cameras on its body. This is thanks to the phone’s pop-up camera feature, which will be explained further below. The phone also does not have a fingerprint sensor and has instead opted for a facial-recognition system known as O-Face.

Seeing that big-screen smartphones are the latest craze nowadays, Oppo has fitted the Find X with a massive 6.42-inch OLED display. This Full-HD resolution offers accurate colour reproduction and immersive visual quality that should suffice for everyday usage like gaming, video-watching, and browsing the Internet. The display also has enough brightness for the onscreen contents to remain legible when the phone is used outdoors.

One of the main talking points in terms of the Find X is its cameras. As mentioned above, you will not be able to see any cameras on the body of the Find X. This is because they are concealed in a block at the top of the device which will rise up out of the body when the camera app is launched. At the rear of this motorized segment is a dual-camera setup consisting of a 16MP sensor alongside a 20MP secondary shooter. The two cameras will enable users to replicate bokeh effects for photos. The cameras will also be assisted by an AI scene-recognition software which identifies up to 21 different scenarios and automatically adjusts the camera settings accordingly.

On the other hand, its 25MP front-facing camera comes with an improved beautification mode to capture better selfies.

Internal Hardware and Battery

Under its hood, the Find X is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which is paired with 8GB of RAM. There will be multiple internal storage variants available, with the highest being 256GB. Battery wise, the phone should house a 3,730mAh battery pack which comes with VOOC fast charging technology via the USB-C port.

Oppo Find X Price and Release Date

The Oppo Find X is expected to be around €999 (~HKD9145.40) and is expected to be available in stores around August 2018.
