Samsung Galaxy S20+ Specifications and FAQ

Samsung recently released three new flagships under the Galaxy S lineup: the S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. As a group, the three Galaxy S20 models cover a solid range of size and price point, with an incredible amount of consistency both carried over from last year’s phones and between the three models. It’s typical Samsung execution through and through, with big improvements in camera technology, even better screens, and some new 5G networking for good measure.

Screen Size & Display

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has a 6.7-inch screen, which is quite a jump from its predecessor’s 6.4-inches, though not quite as palm-stretching as the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s 6.9-inch display. It’s an AMOLED screen, with a punch-hole camera aperture in the top-centre of the display. With a resolution of 3200x1440, Wide Quad High-Definition Plus (WQHD+), which is a step up from the 2K of the previous generation. You’re also getting a 120Hz refresh rate, which means the display updates the image you’re seeing 120 times per second, twice as fast and noticeably smoother.

Design & Colour

Samsung’s gone for the iterative approach with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus’ design, relocating the Galaxy S10’s front-facing camera to the middle, while stacking the rear optics vertically in an elongated, rectangular housing. The edges of the phone’s Infinity display aren’t as steeply curved as the edges were on the last three Galaxy S handsets. However, the S20 Plus’ rounded frame and camera-in-screen aesthetic still make it instantly recognizable as a Samsung product. The Galaxy S20 Plus will come in three colours: Cloud Blue, Cosmic Grey, and Cosmic Black.

You’ll be getting a 12MP primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture; a 64MP telephoto with f/2.0 aperture capable of 3x optical zoom, a 12MP ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a VGA time-of-flight depth sensor, which will assist with live photos and other effects. One of the standout features of the Samsung Galaxy phone is Single Take, a mode that captures various types of media through all of the phone’s lenses in one shot, so you can then select the one you prefer.

With one tap, the S20 Plus will produce wide and ultrawide shots, as well as a bokeh-effect Live Focus portrait and two videos at regular and faster speeds, which can then be easily shared as GIFs. On the front, the S20 Plus packs the same 10MP, f/2.2 sensor as the S20.

Massive Battery Life

At 4,500mAh, the Plus variant’s battery equals the capacity of the one inside last year’s Galaxy S10 5G. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus also includes a 25-watt fast charger, which should get the S20 Plus juiced back up relatively quickly.
