Sony will soon unveil the Sony Xperia X Ultra – their latest flagship device that is expected to come with a wide display, similar to the LG G6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8. The Xperia X Ultra is said to wield a 21:9 screen aspect ratio, taller than the Galaxy S8. Unlike their previous releases, there are only a few renders for the Xperia Ultra circulating on the web. Based on the renders, here are some of the specs that suggest the device will be exhibiting.

Design

The latest smartphone from Sony will retain the company's Omnibalance design like its predecessor, the Xperia X. It will feature the volume controls which are going to be flanked on the left while the home button is going to be placed on the right. As for the available color options, the Xperia X Ultra comes in gray and red colors.

Display and Platform

The Sony Xperia X Ultra will come with a pre-installed Android Nougat which is a top of the line operating system. Aside from that, it will sport a whopping 6.45-inch Super AMOLED display with a QHD resolution. With that, users will be in for a delightful visual experience while playing games and watching videos on its gigantic screen.

Storage and Performance

As for the internal storage, the Xperia X Ultra will house an internal storage of 64 GB which can be further expanded with a microSD card up to 256 GB. That way you can download and store many apps and files. At its heart, the Xperia X Ultra will equip a Snapdragon 660 processor with 8 cores. Along with its 4 GB RAM, it will deliver a flawless performance and lag-free multitasking.

Camera and Battery

The Xperia X Ultra will sport an impressive rear snapper with a 19-megapixel resolution. This is coupled with an LED flash that will allow users to record videos and shoot images even in dimly-lit environments. The front snapper, on the other hand, will pack a 13-megapixel resolution which is decent enough for selfies and video calling. In terms of battery life, the Xperia X Ultra is expected to come with a non-removable Li-Ion 3,050 mAh battery with a fast-charging support; all thanks to its Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Judging by these features, they are decent enough for a flagship device, except for the Snapdragon 660 chipset which is considered average. Possibly, this will be a higher mid-range handset for those looking for a budget-friendly phone.

As of writing, Sony hasn’t confirmed the release date for the Xperia X Ultra in Southeast Asian markets, although it is expected to be launched in late September or early October. It might be priced at around 1,970 RM (23,833 PHP, 630 SGD, 3,662 HKD).
