A brand-new smartphone designed to target users in need of a big and affordable mobile device was launched in the US in April this year. The handset is called the Blade Max 3, one of ZTE’s latest additions.

The Blade Max 3 comes with a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. In terms of hardware, the device houses a Snapdragon 625 processor with 8 cores. It packs a capacious 4,000 mAh battery that provides a stand-by time of up to 31 days or 40 hours of talk time. Unlike many other handsets in this range, the Blade Max 3 comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner. It also hosts a decent 13 MP back camera and a 5 MP front snapper. The back of the handset sports a dual camera setting with a dual-LED flash adjacent to it. Furthermore, the device houses a 16 GB internal storage space with a micro SD slot for expanded storage of up to 128 GB.

Other specifications of the Blade Max 3 include a digital-to-analog convertor that allows for a remarkable audio experience through headphones. It comes with other features found in other mid-range devices such as Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz 802.11 b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. It also has sensors like gyroscope, compass magnetometer, accelerometer, proximity, and ambient light sensor. Moreover, the handset runs on Android Marshmallow operating system which leaves users wondering if it can be updated to the latest Android version. Unfortunately, ZTE has not announced yet if it can be updated to Android Nougat.

The ZTE Blade Max 3 comes with a starting price of 863 RM (279 SGD, 9932 PHP, and 1557 HKD). As of writing, ZTE has no official release dates yet for South East Asian markets.
