Eighteen years after the classic Hong Kong comedy The Eagle Shooting Heroes, writer-director Jeff Lau returns with his latest fantasy comedy romp featuring an all-star cast. This time, Lau doesn't repeat his spoof of Wong Kar Wai's artsy wuxia, but comes up with a brand-new genre mashup filled with colorful characters inspired by Buddhist deities, his beloved brand of transcending romance, and loads of quotable lines and crazy, good old-fashioned "mo lei tau" gags. In a bid to surpass its unforgettable predecessor, East Meets West even lines up as many as 60 famous pop singers and actors, including Eason Chan, Ekin Cheng, Karen Mok, Stephy Tang, William So, Tan Weiwei, Jaycee Chan, Crystal Huang, Kenny Bee, and many more. Tens of millennia ago, eight gods who ceaselessly fought each other were exiled to earth. For generations, they have been reincarnated as mere mortals, and they won't be allowed back to heaven until they've learned to coexist in harmony. Then in today's Hong Kong, a mortuary beautician (Karen Mok) and her has-been singer dad (Kenny Bee) are chased for a huge sum of money they don't owe. Turns out her materialistic stepmom (Crystal Huang) has taken a tycoon's (Eason Chan) advance payment on the false promise of organizing a concert that she can't deliver. The family is therefore forced to go on the run, and along the way they meet an assortment of quirky people, including a mute baker (Ekin Cheng), a kung fu cab driver (William So), an aspiring musician (Tan Weiwei) and her crafty sidekick (Jaycee Chan). Through a series of comic misadventures, the seven of them come to realize that they used to be gods and have a mission in this life, but...who is the eighth god that has yet to rejoin them? The Hong Kong Version Blu-ray comes with making-of and trailers.

Producer Tsui Hark takes the directing reins from John Woo for the third and final film in the A Better Tomorrow trilogy. A Better Tomorrow III is a prequel to the earlier films, and features the return of Mark, the suave, righteous killer made popular by actor Chow Yun Fat in the original A Better Tomorrow. Still young and without the seasoning which would make him one of the triad underworld's most fearsome killers, Mark journeys to 1974 Saigon, where he hooks up with tough-as-nails gangster Anita Mui. She teaches him the way of the gun, but her former flame doesn't take kindly to Chow's presence around his ex-girlfriend. Making matters worse is a love triangle involving Chow's cousin Tony Leung Ka Fai, and the approaching fall of Saigon. Tsui Hark serves up slow-motion bullet ballet and wrenching melodrama in classic Better Tomorrow tradition, while managing to put his own unique spin on one of Hong Kong Cinema's most beloved franchises.

Z Storm director David Lam and leading man Louis Koo return for the sequel S Storm, an exciting crime thriller again centered around the workings of the ICAC, Hong Kong's corruption watchdog law enforcement agency. Corruption within another quintessential Hong Kong institution, the city's official horse racing and betting operator Jockey Club, sets off a long and sinister trail of crime, conspiracy and collusion that runs far deeper than meets the eye. Adding to the local appeal is a cast filled with former TVB stars including Julian Cheung, Bowie Lam, Ada Choi and Shek Sau, as well as Lo Hoi Pang, Dada Chen and Taiwan actor Vic Chou. ICAC agent Luk (Louis Koo) is investigating the case of a Jockey Club trader suspected of accepting bribes and fixing sports betting odds. The suspect, however, gets murdered in broad daylight by a hitman (Vic Chou), and Luk is the only witness. Detective Lau (Julian Cheung) is put in charge of the murder case, but in a classic example of ICAC and police deadlock, he is unable to get much information out of Luk. The two agencies delve into the victim's connection with illegal bookmaking operations and discover that there is a mysterious and ruthless big boss pulling the strings.

Jackie Chan completists all need to check out Cannonball Run, the Hong Kong superstar's 1981 shot at crossover Hollywood stardom! A packed cast of Hollywood names, including Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Roger Moore and Farrah Fawcett, play frontmen for the supporting Chan, who does his action-comedy bit as a Japanese car racer out to win the "Cannonball Run", a cross-country car race that's as hilarious and action-packed as it is illegal. Running engineer on Chan's souped-up Subaru is none other than Hong Kong comedy master Michael Hui, who brings his deadpan comedy genius to the table. Jackie Chan is only given one real fight sequence, but what a sequence it is! He gets to beat up a group of Hell's Angels (led by Easy Rider Peter Fonda) in a scene that's vintage Jackie Chan. As for the rest of the film, it's sexy, silly, madcap stuff that ran wild at the American box-office in the early eighties. Still, for fans of Jackie Chan - and probably Burt Reynolds - Cannonball Run still qualifies as a must see.

Few Taiwan films are more anticipated than Wei Te Sheng's 2011 historical epic Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale, based on the true story of the 1930 Wushe Incident, when the aboriginal Seediq peoples rebelled against Japanese imperialist forces. Topping the critical and commercial success of Cape No. 7 would be difficult for Wei Te Sheng, but Taiwan's top-grossing director meets the challenge head-on with this ambitious and powerful two-part epic. Produced by John Woo, Seediq Bale required US$25 million for its lush period detail and riveting action sequences, making it the biggest endeavor in the history of Taiwan cinema. Breaking opening day records, the sweeping blockbuster was Taiwan's highest-grossing homegrown film of 2011 and the winner of Best Film at the 48th Golden Horse Awards. Seediq Bale Part 1 sows the seeds for the film's powerful final conflict, depicting how the Seediq people are demoralized and finally reborn by their continued subjugation by the Japanese. Stripped of their native hunting grounds and forced to work deforesting the very mountains they called home, the rival Seediq tribes rallied together and violently rose up against years of Japanese repression in the 1930 Wushe Incident. Shown in competition at the 68th Venice International Film Festival, Seediq Bale was shot primarily in the Seediq language, with some Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Japanese. Seediq priest Lin Ching Tai stars as the leader of the revolt, legendary warrior Mona Rudao, whose image is on Taiwan's 20NT coin today. Japanese actor Ando Masanobu (The Butcher, The Chef & The Swordsman), television actor and director Umin Boya, Golden Horse Best Supporting Actor winner Bokeh Kosang, Cape No. 7's Tanaka Chie, and singers Landy Wen, Irene Luo, and Vivian Hsu (Hot Summer Days) are among the film's large ensemble cast of name stars and non-professional actors. This release includes Part I of Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale and an interview with John Woo and Wei Te Sheng.

Hong Kong director Gary Mak mixes the city's favorite genres: police, sex and comedy all into one brew in his latest work SDU: Sex Duties Unit. Produced by Pang Ho Cheung, the films reminds of Pang's 2003 hit Men Suddenly In Black which takes on four men's extramarital affairs in Hong Kong; this time, the concept is similar but the setting has been changed to the Vegas of Asia, Macau. After failing an elite selection, the four-member "Special" Duties Unit played by Chapman To, Shawn Yue, Chow Hoi Kwong and Derek Tsang switch their focus from fighting crimes to a battle of pleasures. The Special Duties Unit is the elite paramilitary tactical unit of the Hong Kong Police Force with the goal to counter terrorism and the most notorious and dangerous of criminals. After a disappointing international selection process, four members of the B team, Keung (Chapman To), Fu (Shawn Yue), Ho (Chow Hoi Kwong) and Mic (Derek Tsang), organize a private mission codenamed "Sex War." Hiding their true identities, the team illegally sneaks into Macau to visit the bordellos. Their seamless plan, however, is met with an unexpected anti-vice operation. There must be a place reserved for Sam Hui in Hong Kong's collective memory of the 80s. Many people still remember him vividly as King Kong in the Aces Go Places Series, and of course we can't forget his sloppy partner, the famous bald detective Albert (Karl Mak), as well as Albert's wife, policewoman "Hot Tongue" (Sylvia Chang) and their cute little son Baldy, Jr (Cyrus Wong Ka-ming). Now they're all back in the Aces Go Places Series, a collection of the five Aces Go Places films digitally remastered and housed in a handsome collector's box! All five films in the series were box office hits - Aces Go Places (1982), Aces Go Places II (1983), Aces Go Places III: Our Man From Bond Street (1984), Aces Go Places IV (1986) and Aces Go Places V: The Terracotta Hit (1989). Some were even so popular that they were exported to the west, and called the Mad Mission series! In each episode, King Kong and Albert are given a mission impossible, but the mismatched duo is always able to triumph over the bad guys in the end. The Aces Go Places series is the Hong Kong version of the James Bond movies, but with more pronounced comedy and more sublime silliness. Each episode combines spectacular action with hilarious performances and funny jokes - and you can't afford to miss Sam Hui's theme song "Best Partners", which was ultra-popular during the eighties and remains so even to this day! Hong Kongers nostalgic for the 80s will undoubtedly enjoy these films, while new viewers should still be able to find plenty of amusing, action-packed fun!

Hong Kong director Herman Yau contributes to the centennial celebration of the Xinhai Revolution with his period kung fu biopic about late-Qing feminist and revolutionary Qiu Jin, whose heroic exploits were pivotal in bringing about the eventual downfall of the imperial regime in China. The maverick director of The Untold Story has long admired the legendary figure, and his entertaining portrayal of her life story on the silver screen admirably balances the historical drama stuff with exhilarating action scenes choreographed by veteran action director Leung Siu Hung (Ip Man). Yau brings back his The Legend is Born - Ip Man star Crystal Huang in the eponymous role, supported by a star-studded cast including Dennis To, Anthony Wong, Kevin Cheng, Rose Chan, Pat Ha, Lam Suet, Xiong Xinxin, Tsui Tin Yau, Wong Yau Nam, and Lollipop-F's A-wei. When the women of her time had their feet bound to please men, Qiu Jin (Crystal Huang) was already questioning the sexual inequality of feudal traditions. Free-spirited and well-educated, she grew up practicing martial arts and was as well versed in poetry as she was in sword-fighting. When this rebellious girl moved to Beijing with her husband (Kevin Cheng), she witnessed how her country was raided and ravaged by foreign powers. With the encouragement of her neighbor Wu Zhiying (Pat Ha), the wife of righteous magistrate Li Zhongyue (Anthony Wong), Qiu Jin left her family behind to pursue study in Japan. There, she met some like-minded schoolmates who shared her ideals, including revolutionary leader Xu Xilin (Dennis To), and secretly joined his anti-Qing cause. After returning to China, Qiu Jin participated in the uprisings staged by Xu Xilin, leading a small group of hot-blooded students against the armed forces of the corrupt Qing government...

Casshern director Kiriya Kazuaki returns with the highly anticipated Goemon, a full-blown period action epic that matches the visionary ambition and aesthetic of his first film. Produced by J-horror giant Ichise Takashige, Goemon brings together a score of familiar stars and even more familiar characters for a grand old adventure in feudal Japan. Eguchi Yosuke (Children of the Dark) leads the pack as eponymous folk hero Ishikawa Goemon, the Japanese answer to Robin Hood, along with a star-studded cast - Osawa Takao, Hirosue Ryoko, Kaname Jun, Okuda Eiji, Ibu Masato, Terajima Susumu, Gori, Tamayama Tetsuji, and Sato Takeru to name a few - essaying various historical and fictional figures. Kiriya Kazuaki makes everything larger than life with fast-speed action, uncanny costumes and set design, and the eye-boggling visuals and special effects that made Casshern and now Goemon such a spectacular cinematic experience. Warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Okuda Eiji) rises to power in the late 16th century after the assassination of his lord Oda Nobunaga. In these chaotic times, chivalrous bandit Goemon (Eguchi Yosuke) rises as a hero among commoners, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. In one of his many escapades, he steals a box from a merchant, and passes it off to a street urchin (Fukasawa Arashi). But this turns out to be no ordinary box as warlord Toyotomi's right-hand man Ishida (Kaname Jun) soon sends ninja and childhood friend Saizo (Osawa Takao) after Goemon. What's more, a legendary ninja Hattori Hanzo (Terajima Susumu), under the orders of Hideyoshi's rival Tokugawa Ieyasu (Ibu Masato), also join the fray, leading to a swordfighting free-for-all for the box and the secret that lies within.

Jet Li tries something new with Hitman, an action comedy with a surprisingly charming performance from the action superstar! Fu (Jet Li) is an ex-soldier whose honesty and goodness is a little unusual for someone so adept at acrobatic kung-fu fighting. When a low-rent triad (Eric Tsang) discovers Fu's fighting prowess, he entreats the gentle tough guy to help him score a 100 million dollar bounty placed on the "King of Assassins," who just offed a high-ranking Japanese crimelord. But with such a large sum of cash up for grabs, hitmen of all shapes and sizes appear out of the woodwork to claim the reward for themselves! Factoring into the mess are Simon Yam as a dapper cop assigned to chase the multiplying hitmen, and cute Gigi Leung as Jet Li's adorable love interest. Director Stephen Tung intercuts the laughs with finely-choreographed action sequences, and the ace Hong Kong stars provide necessary charm and charisma. Who said being a hitman was easy? From director Edmond Pang and producer Vincent Kok comes the 2001 comedy You Shoot, I Shoot, a winning send-up of Hong Kong's economic problems, its lumbering film industry, and the assassination game itself! The story centers on Bart (Eric Kot), an assassin whose business is suffering through some hard times thanks to the Asian economic crisis. His latest client has an interesting proposition for him: Mrs. Ma (Miao Felin) wants to hire Bart to take out a number of people, all because they videotaped her having sex and then released the footage on VCD! To even the score with these amateur pornographers, she wants Bart to film the hit, so he hires a struggling assistant director named Chuen (Chueng Tat Ming) to helm this unique cinematic endeavor! Chuen, however, fancies himself a real filmmaker and initially balks at the arrangement, but eventually gives in to Bart's request. Chuen, of course, becomes even more resistant to the partnership once the real purpose of Bart's mission is revealed, but despite his objections, he soon finds himself adapting to the situation. Chuen edits the footage into a short film, and before long, this strange two-man hitman/director team become all the rage in the assassination business, earning them even more clients, spawning a couple imitators (Lam Suet and Tats Lau), and forcing an inevitable face-off with local authorities. There's even time for a little romance as sparks start to fly between Chuen and a Japanese erotic film star played by Asuke Higuchi! What will become of Bart and Chuen? Their final fate can be discovered in the brilliantly funny satire You Shoot, I Shoot!

Bittersweet revenge is the name of the game in The Fearless Hyena. The Fearless Hyena marks Chan's directorial debut, who also stars as the young lay-about village boy Lung, who seeks unerring vengeance after his master is brutally murdered. A vicious general (Yam Sai Kun) has been roaming the country, systematically wiping out his grandfather's clan, and when he too is executed, Lung is finally dragged out of lethargy and sets out in hot pursuit of the villainous general. What could so easily have turned into yet another formulaic revenge piece emerges as an unmissable piece of Hong Kong action comedy, thanks in large part to the playful performances and expertly handled fight choreography. Lung's ineptitude forces him to back into training before he can exact his revenge, prompting many highly amusing, as well as skillfully played out training sequences.

A classic romantic drama from Hong Kong, An Autumn's Tale is one of the most memorable films of the 1980s. Directed by famed director Mabel Cheung, it stars Chow Yun Fat and Cherie Chung, and at the time of the film's release they were considered Hong Kong's most romantic on-screen couple. Also starring in the film is late singer Danny Chan. The story deals with two people from different social backgrounds who begin the unlikeliest of romances in a land far from home. With Cheung's meticulous direction, there is an almost fairy-tale like quality to this film. Chow Yun Fat's "Boat Head" and Cherie Cheung's Lee Kay defined romance for years, and the song played in the film, "At the Forest and the Wild", moved many to tears! There is little wonder as to why An Autumn's Tale was voted into "Hong Kong's Top 10 Most Popular Films Ever" by internet voters. An Autumn's Tale also picked up many awards at the 7th Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Film, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay by Alex Law Kai Yui (Mabel Cheung's husband), as well as Best Actor for Chow Yun Fat.

Doomsday is upon Japan (again) in the thrilling all-star blockbuster 20th Century Boys based on Urasawa Naoki's acclaimed manga. Too big for just one film, 20th Century Boys is being released in three installments over one year's time. The first chapter lays the roots for the visionary trilogy's ambitious tale about a group of friends who emerge as unlikely heroes in the battle against an apocalyptic evil they had unwittingly foretold as children. More than just a good vs. evil doomsday saga, 20th Century Boys makes for a positively epic exercise in filmmaking and storytelling that spans multiple generations and genres, and bites into conspiracy theory, pop culture nostalgia, and spectacular special effects. Helmed by hit-making director Tsutsumi Yukihiko (Memories of Tomorrow), 20th Century Boys is certainly one of the greatest undertakings Japan Cinema has ever seen, with its six billion yen budget and staggeringly long cast list that runs 300 deep. Karasawa Toshiaki (Casshern) leads the ensemble cast that includes Tokiwa Takako (Mamiya Kyodai), Toyokawa Etsushi (The Sinking of Japan), Kagawa Teruyuki (Sukiyaki Western - Django), and Sasaki Kuranosuke (After School). Kenji (Karasawa Toshiaki) used to be a wannabe rocker but, now in his thirties, he's back in his hometown running a convenience store and taking care of his baby niece. All seems quiet and uneventful in Kenji's life, save for the worried whispers about the rise of a cult led by a masked man who calls himself "Friend". The cult's logo seems eerily familiar, as do the news of mysterious deaths and terrorist acts around the world. Back in the summer of 1969, Kenji and his buddies sketched for fun a Book of Prophecy that predicted the world's end. Twenty-eight years later, the scenarios laid out in the Book of Prophecy are coming true one by one, and all fingers point to "Friend". As friends and foes of the past reappear for mankind's last stand, can Kenji fulfill his own prophecy and save the world?

To avoid charges, the four of them work together to break out of prison, turning their ambitious sex mission into a hilarious emergency escape plan This version includes trailers, commentary, deleted scenes and making-of.

Released in cinemas during the 2016 Lunar New Year holiday, The Monkey King 2 continues the blockbuster fantasy epic based on the oft-adapted literary classic Journey to the West. Aaron Kwok, who played the Bull Demon King in Soi Cheang's 2014 film, dons the monkey suit to play the powerful and mischievous Monkey King Sun Wukong in the sequel, while William Feng (Wolf Totem) joins the series as the monk who leads them on the journey to the west. With a darker story and improved visual effects, The Monkey King 2 is bigger and better, and covers some of the saga's most famous chapters including the encounter with the White Bone Demon, stunningly portrayed by Gong Li. Five hundred years after raising havoc in heaven, Sun Wukong (Aaron Kwok) is released from his mountain prison by monk Xuanzang (William Feng) who has been tasked by the Goddess of Mercy to retrieve holy sutras from the Western Region. To atone for their sins, Wukong and his fellow disciples, river ogre Sha Wujing (Him Law, Young and Dangerous: Reloaded) and amorous pig demon Zhu Baijie (comedian Xiao Shenyang, The Grandmaster), are to accompany and protect Xuanzang on this long and dangerous pilgrimage. However, many perils await them on the road including the notorious, shape-shifting demoness Lady White (Gong Li) who has set her eyes on Xuanzang's flesh. This edition comes with making-of, trailer and theme song music video. Note: 3D television, 3D Blu-ray player and 3D glasses are required to view the 3D version of the film.

Written and produced by Wong Jing, breezy gangster actioner Bullet & Brain is the kind of entertaining genre hodgepodge that only Hong Kong can do so well. At times serious, at times silly, this fast-paced film is anchored with charismatic performances from Best Actor trio Eric Tsang, Anthony Wong, and Francis Ng. Wong and Ng, in particular, get to strut their stuff as the opaquely cool titular outlaws, Bullet and Brain. The veterans lead the way for their younger co-stars - Alex Fong (Love is Not All Around) and newcomer actresses Tiffany Tang, Liu Yang, and Liu Yuan Yuan - who help bring some youthful energy to the proceedings. Helmed by cinematographer-turned-director Keung Kwok Man, Bullet & Brain rolls action, drama, comedy, and romance together into a tight, unpredictable, and enjoyable roller coaster of a movie. Triad boss Principal meets an untimely demise when his protege Winston (Andrew Wu) betrays him. Before his death, he left his Swiss bank account password to his granddaughter Rain (Tiffany Tang), who now becomes Winston's next target. Winston needs the money to cut a deal with another mob boss (Eric Tsang), and he's willing to use any means to get it. Rookie cop Fei (Alex Fong) is assigned to protect Rain, but he's more bumbling than brave and both are soon in deep waters with Winston's gang on the hunt. Luckily, the Principal also left Rain a torn bill that if sent out would bring the aid of his old friends, legendary criminals Bullet (Francis Ng) and Brain (Anthony Wong). The sharp-minded, sharp-shooting duo haven't been seen in years, but they're back with guns a-blazing to save Rain. The only problem: they vowed years ago to never kill or lie again.

Director Derek Chiu (Love Au Zen) and screenwriter Aubrey Lam (Hidden Track) collaborate on Love Trilogy, an intelligent and refreshingly mature light drama about the trials of three couples in varying stages of love. Award-winning Hong Kong actors Francis Ng and Anita Yuen star as a bickering Hong Kong married couple who celebrate their seventh anniversary by taking a tour of Kunming, China. However, tensions are high, and possible divorce is in the offing. Meanwhile, a newlywed couple (Lu Yu and Han Xiao) is on the same tour, and find their newly-married status tested by their continued companionship. A Korean couple (Oh Ji Ho and Yun Re Yi) rounds out the "trilogy", but they may not even get to marriage, as fundamental differences seem to be making themselves known. Popular Chinese starlet Ruby Lin (Princess Returning Pearl) is on board as their tour guide, who offers insight and even unexpected personal complications with the three couples. Thanks to Aubrey Lam's intelligent script and Derek Chiu's sensitive direction, Love Trilogy is an uncommon film about the sometimes difficult realities of modern love and marriage.

One day, he dreams of himself being high-spirited and speaking fluent Mandarin. In the dream, he meets a Chinese girl named Ailing (Yolanda Yuan) in an anonymous city, where they witness the suicide of her boyfriend and later fall in love with each other. Young and Dangerous hero Ekin Cheng breaks the speed limit in the entertaining racing drama The Legend of Speed. Directed by Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs, The Storm Riders), the film stars Cheng as Sky, a rebellious street racer whose cocky demeanor and sometimes brash behavior make him a prime candidate for a fall. Sky receives his comeuppance when a race against ex-con Fung (Simon Yam) results in tragic consequences. Exiled to Thailand, Sky meets his wayward father (Blacky Ko), who helps Sky reconnect to the philosophical side of his racing talent. Reinvigorated and wiser, Sky plans to return to Hong Kong for a rematch with Fung, only to discover that his past has caught up with him, perhaps fatally. Featuring an all-star cast of Hong Kong entertainment stars, including Cecilia Cheung (The Promise), Kelly Lin (After This, Our Exile), Patrick Tam (Beast Cops, and Moses Chan (TVB's Heart of Greed), Legend of Speed features thrilling racing sequences and a cool central performance by Ekin Cheng, whose string of late nineties box-office hits made him Hong Kong's most bankable young actor. The film was a large success, pulling in over HK$19 million at the box office during the Christmas 1999 movie season, paving the way for director Andrew Lau's later racing blockbuster Initial D.
