Keen Hong Kong: Best Shoes For Everyday Stroll

Nothing clears your heads like a long walk. Whether it’s a peaceful stroll down a street you’ve visited before or an invigorating daylong tour exploring an unfamiliar city, walking is stimulating for the body and relaxing for the mind. Keen’s got walking shoes for the dedicated dog walkers and day-trippers among them. These pairs will all still be outrageously comfy at the end of the longest walks. Keen shoes are designed to let your feet spread out. But which pair should you pick?

Presidio/Austin Casual Shoes

The Presidio (for women) and the Austin (for men) are very similar. They’re both sturdy, durable all-leather lace-ups with plenty of arch support, the protective Keen toe bumper, and that roomy toe box for a comfy, toe-wiggling fit. These shoes have earned such a loyal following that many fans buy them in different silhouettes and colours.

Terradora II Vent/Venture Vent Hikers

Ditto on the Terradora II Vent and Venture Vent shoes- they’re both vented, light hiker sneakers, one for women and one for men. What makes them special? The performance mesh upper is breathable, so you get a closed shoe that won’t overheat. Both the Terradora II and the Venture Vent are technically hiking shoes with a stable, locked-in feel, so you can wear them while hiking or even just around the neighbourhood.

Targhee III/Terradora II Sandals

For those who like a more open feel. The Targhee III sandals (for men) and Terradora II sandals (for women) are created for hiking- both double as comfy footwear for walks along the riverbanks, footpaths, or just down the sidewalk. Wear them with socks or without, and walk easily for miles either way. The Terradora has sturdy webbing straps that are made from recycled plastic water bottles (Keen also makes dog collar and leash from the same recycled material- just in case you have a furry friend who wants to get in on this walk).

Are all Keen boots waterproof?

Depending on the shoe type, Keen combines waterproof and breathable materials with its Keen.Dry Membrane to deliver the Waterproof and Breathable claim.

Why do Keen shoes have a warning sign?

The exclamation point indicates that they feature KEEN’s “KEEN.PROTECT” technology: KEEN Patented Toe Protection where the shoe outsoles wrap up and over the toes for ultimate protection.

Does Keen make running shoes?

Yes, KEEN does make running shoes. It’s a middle ground between hefty trails shoes and lightweight, barefoot-style running shoes.

Where is Keen based?

KEEN is an American footwear and accessories company based in Portland, Oregon. Founded by Martin Keen and Rory Fuerst. The company’s products are sold in retail locations throughout the US and Canada and also are distributed worldwide.

How do you clean Keen Uneek?

It is recommended to clean Keen Uneek sandals by hand washing them with cold water and mild soap. To remove excess dirt or spot clean, use a stiff brush or soft cloth. Do not machine wash. Other than that, you can throw your Keen Newport, Whisper, Clearwater, Venice- and all Keen Kids sandals into the washing machine. Keen water sandals are machine-washable on a gentle cycle, in cold water, and with a mild detergent. Instead of putting them in the dryer, simply allow them to air dry, preferably outside.

Does Keen run big or small?

Keen switched manufacturing locations and some customers who were on the edge of their size ended up needing to size up after that. This is the same time that Keen officially started suggesting a ½ size up from your normal Keen size, but they’ve always fit a little small.
