The Best Penhaligon Hong Kong Fragrances That You Should Own

Established in 1970, Penhaligon’s was originally a hairdressing salon located near the former Turkish baths on Jermyn Street in central London. Its founder, William Penhaligon, was inspired by the aromas of the baths and he soon diversified into fragrances.

Still made and bottled in England, Penhaligon’s scents are created using the finest ingredients, such as jasmine and hand-squeezed bergamot, and the company has long been a supplier to the British royal family. The perfumer eagerly explores the latest fragrance technology, so each time you open one of Penhaligon’s ribbon-wrapped bottles, you’re experiencing British tradition alongside modern developments.

Penhaligon Artemisia

Artemisia is a beautifully silky fragrance inspired by romantic tales from Greek Mythology and named in honour of Artemis, the Goddess of the hunt whose symbol was the Moon. At the base of Artemisia is a creamy, almost caramel sweet blend of vanilla and amber, which unfolds underneath a lunar veil of jasmine, violets and lily of the valley and delicate top notes of orchard fruits and crisp green foliage.

Penhaligon Elixir

Elixir is a modern interpretation of its original fragrance Hammam Bouquet, with Turkish Rose carrying the thread through time. Dramatic stone floors of Hammams are conjured through the mineral facets of incense, smoky guaiac wood and resins. The harmonising oil of eucalyptus is spiced cardamom and mace, as the decadence of these exotic baths is suggested with blooms of Turkish rose and jasmine.

Penhaligon Ellenisia

Ellenisia is a reimagined fragrance from the Penhaligon’s archives, a magical and sultry white floral bouquet. Extravagant fruity tuberose, wrapped in layers of creamy gardenia, jasmine and rose drizzled in plum nectar. Mandarin and violet leaf convey an unexpected freshness at the opening, merging into the hypnotic white florals into a decadent base of vanilla.

Penhaligon Vaara

Vaara was a private commission for His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II to commemorate the birth of his Granddaughter, Princess Vaara. Reflecting the Maharajah's romantic experience of his home in Jodhpur, Vaara captures the spirit of the lush summer gardens at Balsamand Palace and the balmy evening breeze inhaled from atop the Mehrangarh Fort.
