How to Install Security Sensors in Hong Kong

Installing sensors isn’t a difficult task, it’s as easy as peeling a sticker and placing it on any surface. But doing so requires planning to look for the right place for each sensor, ensuring that it will work effectively as possible. Here are some installation tips on how to determine the perfect place for different types of sensors.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Carbon monoxide detectors in Hong Kong beep loudly if there are high levels of carbon monoxide in the air, alerting you to get everyone out of the house. It’s best to install one carbon monoxide detector on each floor of your home and place it five feet above the ground. When it comes to good locations for installing these sensors, you can place them near bedrooms and in living rooms where most people are likely sleeping or gathering. You can also place one near your garage door but avoid installing it inside the garage, close to any appliances, or in confined places like furnace rooms.

Door/window sensors

Door sensors in Hong Kong alert you once a burglar enters your home through a door or window. They send a signal to the control panel which notifies the central monitoring station. It’s best to have these sensors on every door and window, but you might also want to consider purchasing a glass break sensor or image sensor instead of multiple window sensor. If one of your doors or windows appears to be an easy spot for burglars to access, then make sure you place a sensor near it. Intruders like dark areas, so you may want to have those places monitored. Also, don’t forget to install sensors near your bedroom windows.

Fire/heat/smoke detectors

This kind of sensors detects fire, heat, and smoke. When installing these sensors, make sure they are interconnected so that they will alert in unison, making sure that everyone in the house will hear them. It’s best to have at least one fire alarm on every floor of your home, especially in places where people gather or sleep such as the bedroom. Also, install these sensors near attics and in living rooms. That way, the sensor will detect the fire sooner if it’s closer to these areas.

Flood sensors

A flood sensor works if it senses excess water in the location where it is placed. It helps warn you of any leakage from a defective appliance or broken pipe, providing an advance notice to shut the water off and save any important belongings. Not to mention, it saves you money on repairs.

When installing one, make sure to place it on the first level of your home. You may also place it inside the sump up so it will alert you before the water comes to your basement. If you don’t have a basement, you can place it near the water heater in your kitchen or laundry room.
