In 'Spock's Brain'; the Enterprise's indomitable Vulcan science officer has his brain stolen by a beautiful and mysterious female humanoid. In 'The Enterprise Incident'; a moody Kirk (William Shatner) orders the Enterprise into the Romulan Neutral Zone. In 'The Paradise Syndrome'; Kirk, Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and McCoy (DeForest Kelley) beam down to a planet which is a precise duplicate of Earth. While on the planet surface, the captain is stranded, rendered unconscious and suffers a severe case of amnesia. 'And the Children Shall Lead' sees Kirk and crew answering a distress call from the planet Triacus, only to find all the adults dead and the children calmly indifferent. In 'Is There in Truth No Beauty?'; a Medusan ambassador boards the Enterprise. The Medusan appearance is so fearful that it can drive men insane - and Spock is the unfortunate who happens to glimpse the ambassador. In 'Spectre of the Gun'; Kirk ignores warnings from an alien culture, so they punish him by transporting him and some of his fellow officers to a bizarre Wild West shootout. 'Day of the Dove' sees an alien entity which breeds on hatred attempting to spark off a war between the Klingons and the Federation. In 'For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky'; Doctor McCoy discovers that he has a terminal illness, and submits to enslavement by an alien queen. In 'The Tholian Web'; Kirk is stranded on the devastated USS Defiant, while the Enterprise is trapped in another universe. In 'Plato's Stepchildren'; the crew of the Enterprise are enslaved by telepathic aliens when they answer a distress call. In 'Wink of an Eye'; the crew of the Enterprise uncover a mystery concerning an abandoned city and disappearing crew-members. 'The Empath' sees Kirk, Spock and McCoy being tortured by aliens on a doomed planet. In 'Elaan of Troyius'; the Enterprise crew find themselves working for peace between two warring planets. They carry with them a gift to cement the peace - but she is a wild, wild woman. In 'Whom Gods Destroy'; the Enterprise delivers a new drug for the insane to a lunatic asylum, only for Kirk and Spock to be captured by the inmates. In 'Let That Be Your Last Battlefield'; the Enterprise is en route to a rescue mission when the crew finds a stolen Federation shuttlecraft. They recover the craft and the hijacker - and find themselves in the middle of a feud between bigoted aliens. 'The Mark of Gideon' sees Kirk's crew go missing after he beams down to the planet of the secretive Gideons. In 'That Which Survives'; a beautiful young woman appears on the Enterprise and warns the crew not to travel to the nearby planet. However, her warning is too late to stop an away-team being stranded on the geologically unstable world. In 'The Lights of Zetar'; Lieutenant Mira Romaine (Jan Shutan) encounters a dazzling natural phenomenon. In 'Requiem for Methuselah'; Kirk has to beam to a nearby planet to find the cure for a disease that is wiping out the crew. On the planet's surface he meets a mysterious, immortal genius. In 'The Way to Eden'; the crew come across a stolen space ship filled with space hippies. In 'The Cloud Minders'; the Enterprise is sent on a mercy mission to recover a drug that will aid a plagued planet. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of the planet where the vital drug is found are very unhelpful. In 'The Savage Curtain'; Starfleet order an investigation into a persistent space legend. When the crew of the Enterprise arrive on the scene, they are scanned and then greeted by Abraham Lincoln (Lee Bergere). In 'All Our Yesterdays'; Kirk, Spock and McCoy find themselves living in the past of a doomed planet that they were trying to evacuate. Finally, in 'Turnabout Intruder'; the last original episode, Kirk finds a former acquaintance amongst the survivors of a mysterious catastrophe.

In 'Melora'; Dr Bashir falls in love with a woman from a planet where the gravity is different, and she is confined to a wheel-chair when away from her planet. Bashir sets about a treatment to free her from the chair. In 'Rules of Acquisition' a female Ferengi puts Quark in a difficult situation when she falls in love with him. In 'Necessary Evil' an attack on Quark's life reminds Odo of the first crime he investigated on Ds9, and threatens to break the bond that he has built up with Kira. In 'Second Sight'; Sisko falls in love with a mysterious woman who turns out to be a telepathic projection. In 'Sanctuary'; Kira helps a group of aliens from the Gamma Quadrant, who then lay claim to Bajor, saying it is their traditional homeland. In 'Rivals'; Quark feels threatened when a swindler opens a rival business on the Promenade. In 'The Alternate'; Odo is offered the chance to discover more about his origins by Doctor Mora Pol. In 'Armageddon Game'; O'Brien and Bashir find themselves in danger when they go on a diplomatic mission to rid a nation of a destructive weapon. In 'Whispers'; O'Brien is treated with suspicion by both his friends and family when he returns to DS9 after a mission in the Paradas system. In 'Paradise'; Sisko and O'Brien are stranded on a planet where there is strict discipline and a rejection of technology. In 'Shadowplay'; Odo and Dax discover a planet in the Gamma Quadrant where the inhabitants of a town are beginning to disappear. In 'Playing God'; Dax discovers a mini universe that is growing and beginning to displace her own universe. She finds signs of life within it, and is therefore reluctant to destroy it. In 'Profit and Loss'; Quark's ex-lover returns to Deep Space Nine but she is now on the run from the Cardassians. In 'Blood Oath'; three Klingons (all of whom had been in the original series) search out Curzon Dax who promised to help them in their quest for retribution. Jadzia finds that she cannot turn her back on her former host's friends. In 'The Maquis: Part 1'; it becomes apparent that there is terrorist activity in the Cardassian demilitarised zone, so Sisko and Gul Dukat form an uneasy alliance to find out the truth. In the concluding episode of a two-part story, 'The Maquis: Part Ii'; Sisko must go in search of the kidnapped Gul Dukat and face the renegade Starfleet officer, Hudson. In 'The Wire' Cardassian tailor Garak catches a mysterious illness whilst on board Deep Space Nine, and parts of his past life as a secret agent begin to surface. In 'Crossover'; Major Kira slips into an alternate reality once visited by Captain Kirk, where mirror images of her colleagues from DS9 are now evil - even herself. In 'The Collaborator'; Vedek Bareil is suspected of betraying Bajorans in the war with Cardassia, and Major Kira has to put her personal feelings behind her to investigate the allegations. In 'Tribunal'; Chief O'Brien is falsely accused of murder and transported to Cardassia to stand trial. Finally in the last episode of this season, 'The Jem'Hadar'; Sisko, Jake and Nog travel to the Gamma Quadrant and encounter the awesome warrior race, the Jem'Hadar; who intend to invade the Alpha Quadrant.

In 'Rightful Heir' Worf finds his loyalty severely tested when a mythically great Klingon warrior returns to reclaim the Empire. In 'Second Chances' Riker encounters a transporter twin of himself that was created by accident eight years earlier, and this twin tries to rekindle his love for Troi. In 'Timescape' the Enterprise is frozen in time on the edge of a disaster and the crew must discover a way of saving themselves. Finally, in 'Descent: Part 1'; Data is lured away from the Enterprise by the new Borg, who are now able to demonstrate their individuality and refer to themselves using names.

In 'Apocalypse Rising'; stardate 50013.9, Sisko and an away team alter themselves surgically to look like Klingons and try to plot an assassination of a founder masquerading as a high-ranking Klingon. In 'The Ship'; stardate 50049.3, a salvage mission goes awry when Sisko and his away team become involved in a game of cat and mouse with a Jem'Hadar ship. In 'Looking for Par'mach in All the Wrong Places'; stardate 50061.2, Quark's Klingon ex-wife turns up at the station for his help in her finances. He soon finds himself falling for her again, as does Worf who nevertheless helps Quark to woo her. In 'Nor the Battle to the Strong'; stardate 50098.7, Bashir and Jake come across a Starfleet colony in the midst of war with the Klingons. Jake soon finds that the reality of war is far from exciting and that there is a fine line between cowardice and bravery. In 'The Assignment'; stardate 50124.3, Keiko returns from Bajor seemingly possessed by a non-corporeal alien.The alien then threatens to kill Keiko if Chief O'Brien fails to sabotage the station. In 'Trials and Tribble-ations'; stardate 4523.7, Sisko, Dax, Odo, Worf, Bashir and O'Brien find themselves thrown back in time to a point where Kirk and the original Enterprise crew are having a little trouble with some Klingons and a lot of furry little squeaks. This show is Deep Space Nine's contribution to the 30th Anniversary celebrations, and features similar special effects as were used in 'Forrest Gump' to put the space station crew in the same scenes as the original cast. In 'Let He Who is Without Sin'; stardate 50136.7, Worf and Dax plan a trip to Risa for a vacation, but are joined by Bashir, Leeta and Quark. To make matters worse for Worf, whose temper is at breaking point, he becomes involved with a group who are planning to destroy Risa. In 'Things Past'; stardate 50144.5, Sisko, Dax, Odo and Garak are plunged into a mysterious coma in which they believe they are Bajoran slaves during the occupation. In 'The Ascent'; stardate 50245.2, Odo and Quark become stranded on an inhospitable planet. Unfortunately, they are out of contact with the station and must climb an impossible peak to get a signal through. In 'Rapture'; stardate 50378.9, Captain Sisko becomes obsessed with unravelling the mysteries behind some ancient Bajoran heiroglyphics. In his investigations he suffers some effects on his brain that may prove to be fatal. In 'The Ascent'; stardate 50245.2, Odo and Quark become stranded on an inhospitable planet. Unfortunately, they are out of contact with the station and must climb an impossible peak to get a signal through. In 'Rapture'; stardate 50378.9, Captain Sisko becomes obsessed with unravelling the mysteries behind some ancient Bajoran heiroglyphics. In 'The Begotten'; stardate 50430.1, Quark sells Odo a baby Changeling and Odo is determined to help it grow and develop. The arrival on the station of Doctor Mora Pol, the Bajoran who raised Odo, makes the atmosphere a little tense. Meanwhile, the final preparations are made for the birth of the new O'Brien. In 'For the Uniform'; stardate 50485.2, Captain Sisko closes in on the Starfleet Officer turned Maquis rebel, Eddington. Frustrated by the protocols of Starfleet, Sisko may have to bend the rules to catch his nemesis. In 'In Purgatory's Shadow'; stardate 50560.1, an SOS message from the Gamma Quadrant leads Garak and Worf on a reconnaissance mission in Dominion space. At the same time, Alpha Quadrant politics are thrown into turmoil and the station faces a nerve-wracking future, with a Changeling threat and the possibility of an attack by the massed fleets of the Jem'Hadar. In 'By Inferno's Light'; the concluding part of the two part story, the crew of DS9 watch helplessly as their plan to stop the invading Jem'Hadar ships by collapsing the wormhole is thwarted. Meanwhile Worf, Bashir and Garak search for a way to escape the Dominion prison camp in the Gamma Quadrant. In 'Doctor Bashir, I Presume'; stardate 50590.1, Doctor Lewis Zimmerman (the inventor of the Emergency Holographic Doctor in 'Star Trek Voyager') visits the station intending to use Doctor Bashir as a basis for a new model of his invention. When Bashir's parents arrive, Zimmerman's digging reveals certain revelations that would jeopardise Bashir's Starfleet career. In 'A Simple Investigation'; stardate 50626.6, a routine investigation for Odo escalates into a larger conspiracy theory, and a new-found friend of the security chief's finds her life in danger. In 'Business as Usual'; stardate 50675.5, Quark worries that he may lose his bar until his arms-dealing cousin offers him a way out. However, this means losing his friends and sacrificing his conscience. In 'Ties of Blood and Wine'; stardate 50689.7, Kira receives a visitor aboard the station - the leader of the old Cardassian resistance group. Her happiness is shattered when she discovers that not only is he suffering from an incurable disease, he is also not the heroic figure that she always believed him to be. In 'Ferengi Love Songs'; stardate 50701.2, Quark leaves the station and travels to his homeworld when his bar is shut down. Seeking solace from his mother, he discovers that she is more interested in the Grand Nagus. In 'Soldiers of the Empire'; Worf is asked to become First Officer on a Klingon Bird of Prey. When he arrives he finds the crew dispirited and treasonous and realises that the only way to restore order is to kill the captain - one General Martok. In 'Children of Time'; the crew of the Defiant discover a planet inhabited by their direct descendants. It seems that an old temporal accident has caused the incident, and the crew have to decide whether to mend the temporal rift and wipe out their descendants or relive the accident, leaving themselves stranded 200 years in the past. There must be some other way, captain. In 'Blaze of Glory'; Sisko has to ally himself with his old nemesis Michael Eddington to stop a Maquis plan from starting all out war with the Dominion and the Cardassians. The problem is that Eddington is more intent on taking revenge on the man who put him behind bars. In 'Empok Nor'; O'Brien; Garak, Cadet Nog and a team of three engineers travel to DS9's abandoned sister station to salvage parts. Their arrival reactivates a Cardassian hit squad who have had a xenophobic hatred instilled in them. One by one the Starfleet crew are eliminated as a deadly game of cat and mouse begins. In 'In the Cards'; the Dominion attempt to sign a treaty with Bajor that will upset the power balance in the Alpha Quadrant. Meanwhile Jake and Nog become involved with an unscrupulous scientist. In the cliff-hanging season finale, 'Call to Arms'; Sisko decides to mine the entrance to the wormhole to stem the build-up of Jem'Hadar troops in Cardassian space. He knows that this will lead to a conflict, and soon the station is under attack from a huge military force, with no-one sure as to whether Starfleet has any tricks up its sleeves.
