Sony is one of the manufacturers that got many mentions in this year’s Mobile World Congress for their flagship smartphones which includes the Sony Xperia XZs. After its big reveal, the flagship comes with a deluxe version, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, which will be released this year. Sony is saving the premium version for a later release, while the Xperia XZs is already available for pre-order in Asian markets like India. Here are the features of this lite phone flagship from Sony.
Sony incorporated slight improvements on the design for Xperia XZs as it comes with a noticeable camera bump on its rear. This little tweak on the design appears stylish, providing users the “Xperia” or elegant feel. The flagship’s exterior also hosts a loop design, making it nice to hold. The Xperia XZs comes in three color variants: ice blue, black, and warm silver. All three colors appear bland in photos but look remarkable in person.
Display and Hardware
The Xperia XZs’ display comes with a decent 1080x1920 pixels, enough to deliver neat and clear images. It runs on the latest Android version, the Nougat, just like other recent flagship models. In terms of processor, the Sony Xperia XZs uses its predecessor’s chipset which is the Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530 GPU. Although its processor may not be top-of-the-line, the Snapdragon 820 is still a solid chipset and performs right next to the latest Snapdragon 835. The XZs also comes with a 4 GB RAM and a 32 GB internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card.
Battery and Camera
The XZs premium is packed with a 2,900 mAh battery, which is something you don’t expect in a flagship smartphone. The battery may be a let-down but the XZs redeems itself with its new camera technology. The technology allows users to capture and record images at high speeds, faster than other current smartphones like One Plus 3T and Huawei P10. With its impressive 19 MP rear camera and 13 MP front snapper, the Xperia XZs is an ideal handset for smartphone photographers out there.
The Xperia XZs is now available for pre-order in South East Asian markets. It costs 2699RM in Malaysia, 30810 PHP in the Philippines, 858 SGD in Singapore, and 4806 HKD in Hong Kong.
